Our Senior Leader Development Programme will help you become a more effective senior leader, capable of channelling your strengths to the benefit of your team and organisation.
Xenonex are experts at creating leaders. We have many years’ experience coaching leaders within organisations, and we know the importance of coaching senior members of staff.
Senior leaders set the tone for the whole organisation. They are capable of inspiring other leaders, and creating a vision for the entire workforce. However, not all senior leaders are clear about their strengths and development needs. These can get lost in the face of significant strategic challenges.
In addition, senior leaders can often lose themselves in their role, and neglect what it was that made them so effective in the first place.
Here, we have a chat with one of our expert associates Kate Smith, on what the programme consists of.
Hi Kate – can you give me a quick overview of the Xenonex Senior Leader Programme please?
Of course – this programme is designed to help you crystallise exactly the type of leader you want to be. By taking a personal, bespoke approach to coaching, we will help you identify your strengths and leadership style, ensuring that you are optimising the things you are best at.
What is the programme designed to do?
This programme is about self-discovery. We use proven tools and skills to help you find your spark, to rediscover your desire and purpose once more! However, it is not a soft option…We will be working hard together to focus on how to create powerful relationships. We will ensure you have all the skills to be able to tackle the most difficult discussions.
Is it an off-the-shelf programme?
No – The Senior Leader Development Programme is bespoke to you. It is contextualised within your working environment.
Ok – so how do you bespoke it?
We prepare for the programme in advance by booking an initial coaching conversation. This is where we get to know each other, and understand more about you and your workplace. It enables us to craft a programme that will meet your specific needs.
We will find out what you want to get out of the programme, and pose the questions: ‘What is the ideal version of you’? ‘What leader do you want to be?’ and ‘When you retire on your last day, what do you want people to say about you?”
Great – what does the main programme entail?
The programme consists of 1 to 1 and group coaching sessions. You will identify your real strengths and values, and learn how to confidently express these at work. By applying principles of positive psychology, we will help you discover what drives your choices and decisions. Through a process that is both challenging and supportive, we will uncover those key attributes that you uniquely possess, and how they can be applied.
Can you tell me a bit more about Strengthscope?
This is one of the psychometric tools we use – it is the only strengths-based psychometric used by the British Psychological Society. Strengthscope will identify your core capabilities and ensure you are utilising them in the correct manner and in a way that is suitable for your role. It also helps identify the risks that might prevent you from performing at your best!
What are the advantages of such a personal programme?
Well, no-one else has the same combination of strengths as you do. No-one else has the same working environment, or the same contextualised challenges either. You are unique, and therefore you need a unique training programme! There is no off-the-shelf solution to senior leader development.
We will ensure that you decide what you are going to focus the programme on. You choose the agenda. And, by using our expertise, experience and tools, we will ensure that you gain a unique insight into how you can be your best.
How do you sustain the programme after it has been delivered?
We understand that everyday work challenges will always try to get in the way of development, and destabilise the good practice that you have learnt. So, we offer a ‘Check-In’ session one month after each course to see how you are progressing, and dust off some of the great skills that you have learned.
What outcomes should I expect from this programme?
Good question – here’s a guideline list:
You will develop a high level of self-awareness and a way to utilise this at work.
You will gain valuable insights into yourself and your team.
You will experience the power of positive change, and focus on a vision of how to be at your best.
You will be able to play – but not overplay – to your unique strengths to the benefit of your team and peers
You will have clear development goals
You will have a clear plan for implementation – the ‘What Now?’
