How Xenonex changed Minster Law’s view of ONLINE learning (e-learning).
CLIENT BACKGROUND
Minster Law Solicitors are personal injury specialists with specific expertise in accidents on a motorcycle, road traffic accidents and those involving a vehicle. Culturally they have a customer focussed approach that underpins all developments in the business, delivering an impressive track record of achieving excellent outcomes for customers.
Based in Wakefield, they employ around 500 staff and in 2017 they won the Modern Claims Awards’ “Outstanding Commitment to Training” Award. Followed in 2018 with the CILEx award for Innovation & People Development.
The company identified a need to up-skill new team leaders with the ability to coach and develop people and to achieve this decided to incorporate two Xenonex e-learning courses into a development programme.
XENONEX ONLINE - A BLENDED APPROACH
Around 20 staff completed the ‘Coaching Conversations’ and ‘Motivating Teams’ online management courses. Both courses are broken down into ‘bite size’ modules and learners can use them at their own pace and at a time of their choosing. Each module and course incorporate a variety of learning methods including text, audio, video, challenges and quizzes.
Minster Law opted for a blended approach, combining the online courses with a series of one-hour face to face workshops.
XENONEX E-LEARNING - FEEDBACK FROM COURSE PARTICIPANTS
The courses can be completed on a computer or tablet device and take around two hours to complete. Each learner gets their own log-in details and the system will remember which stage they have reached, making it easy to complete the course in more than one sitting.
Karen Loomes is a team leader and took the ‘Coaching Conversations’ course and gave her feedback on the appearance and use of the online content;
“I found the online material to be really good, with some great videos, it was simple to use and very colourful. The navigation was really easy, especially given that I am not technology minded!”
Another key feature of our online courses is that they come with accompanying workbooks to ensure course delegates take the time to reflect on the learning, and consider the application of the new tools and techniques within their role.
“The workbooks were really useful as they got me to think about how to use and implement the new techniques”.
Scott Turner, HR Business Partner
XENONEX ONLINE - CLIENT FEEDBACK
Laura Bleasby, Development Manager, is really pleased with the feedback she has received:
“The feedback from delegates has been really encouraging – in fact, we’ve never had feedback as positive.”
She also said that the Xenonex online courses are very different to other courses they have used in the past:
“Xenonex online courses have really changed our view on e-learning. It’s not like the dry, mandatory courses we normally associate with e-learning. It’s engaging, it’s enlightening, it includes videos, and it really brings the topic you are learning to life”.
