The Senior Leader Development Programme is ideal for aspiring and existing senior leaders and directors who are themselves leading middle leaders and are looking for ways to be at their best through achieving both leadership and organisational goals.

Delegates learn how to become more effective senior leaders and how to lead others, and the organisation, in an ever-changing world. They will discover how to use their unique strengths and style to lead teams, collaborate effectively and influence others to take the organisation to the next level.

The Senior Leader Development Programme comprises six interactive workshops, either onsite or live online, where delegates will work with other senior leaders from their organisation.

The workshops are highly interactive and use experiential learning to help clarify leadership goals and how to achieve them. Regular action learning groups are scheduled to discuss issues and insights in greater detail and to share best practice.

As part of the programme, the following self-awareness and analysis support is provided: 

 

3 X 1 TO 1 COACHING SESSIONS

 

Between each workshop, every delegate will receive a 90-minute individual coaching session with a lead tutor who will support them to achieve their specific confidential goals and overcome their unique challenges. 

 

360-DEGREE FEEDBACK

 

Delegates will each receive a detailed 360-degree feedback report to help raise levels of self-awareness, determine their preferred working style, understand how they come across to others and what aspects of their leadership style they may need to adapt to best effect.  

 

STRENGTHSCOPE® REPORTS

 

The globally recognised psychometric assessment Strengthscope® is used to help each delegate understand and play to key strengths within their role and how to utilise these most effectively to make them happier, motivated and more engaged.

 

Access to the Xenonex online portal is also provided where supporting materials, resources, articles, and video recordings of each of the workshops are available.

MODULE 1 - ONBOARDING AND DEVELOPING CONNECTIONS

  • Introductions and programme overview

 

  • ‘Leader in profile’ sharing exercise based on pre-work

 

  • Briefing on pre-work for other modules including 360-degree feedback process, values questionnaire and resilience wheel

MODULE 2 - IDEAL LEADERSHIP SELF

  • Create a personal vision of ‘ideal leadership self’

 

  • Use a questionnaire to find out which values are important and how they help and hinder decisions – where are the boundaries?

 

  • Identify 7 significant strengths using Strengthscope® and understand how they can be applied to achieve performance and tackle challenges

 

  • Uncover performance risks and explore how to reduce them 

 

  • Develop a strengths plan

Post Module 2: 360-degree feedback report and 90-minute 1 to 1 coaching session

MODULE 3 - THE EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT LEADER

  • How our brain drives our behaviour and how to manage it

 

  • Identify tactics to use to manage unhelpful emotions and behaviours

 

  • How to recognise limiting beliefs and challenge them

 

  • How to create helpful new behavioural habits and undo unhelpful ones

MODULE 4 - LEADER AS COACH

  • Introduction to what coaching is (and isn’t)

 

  • Understand the benefits of using a coaching approach 

 

  • Develop and practice key skills for coaching

 

  • Identify how to integrate coaching into everyday conversations

MODULE 5 - BUILDING POWERFUL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Explore the importance of building relationships, particularly at a senior level

 

  • Identify which relationships to spend time developing

 

  • Tackle a challenging relationship

 

  • Increase influencing skills and ability

Post Module 5: 90-minute 1 to 1 coaching session

MODULE 6 - THE AGILE LEADER

  • Recognise how personal resilience aids ability to change 

 

  • Understand how to build personal resilience

 

  • Identify decision making traps which reduce agility and how to overcome them

 

  • Share the leadership learning journey so far and identify future development
