Shalini is an Executive Coach, Trainer, and Facilitator. She has over 25 years of experience in the corporate world, augmented by leadership roles in the not for profit and public sector. She has lived in Hong Kong and Singapore, and worked all over the world in sectors including telecommunications, technology, finance, professional services, government, health and infrastructure. Prior to founding her own coaching business Shalini had previously had a career as a lawyer in the City of London, followed by a second career in learning and development. She has a strong interest in equity and inclusion, and in seeing more diverse leadership teams in all sectors and at all levels.
Shalini’s style is calm, warm and empathetic – but challenging too. She works closely with her clients to create rapport and build a strong partnership. She brings all her knowledge, experience and intuition, but most of all brings a quality of deep listening and attentiveness that enables her clients to slow down, pause and use the space to think deeply and creatively. She works with clients in different ways, focussing on approaches that resonate with them, but always with a mixture of support and challenge. Whatever the topic, she helps clients to work out what they are learning about themselves and their own thinking process. She has a focus on clarity, whether that is around goals, actions or self-knowledge; and she works with clients to create both their overall vision and the practical steps needed to achieve it.
Executives and leaders within sectors including health, education, financial services, law and construction. Clients have included Taylor Wessing, Clifford Chance, University of Edinburgh, NHS, The Environmental Agency, Macmillan Cancer Care, Clore Social Leadership and Hatch Female Founders Programme. Shalini is also a Non Executive Director at Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
“As a senior leader currently at a turning point in my career, Shalini has enabled me to identify leadership talents I hadn’t previously recognised, giving me new information to hone my own career pathway. Her kind and curious approach has also helped me identify the things I do which get in my own way, and how I can address them. A fantastic, insightful person to work with who has given me plenty of epiphany / penny drop moments!”
– Deputy Director, ED&I, government agency
“As a woman of colour being able to speak very candidly about some lived experiences others might not understand, gave our sessions extra depth and allowed me to truly open up.
To demonstrate the results – while doing the sessions I have built out steps for a side business that is an extension of my creative and playful self. I am moving to another country on great terms with my employer and I had the courage to step up to do a skills swap for a course I really longed to do but never thought it was possible.
I can’t do Shalini’s coaching skills full justice … I just wish we had done it sooner! She just gets it.”
